Join the DeMatha Catholic High School’s soccer team for one of their FREE youth soccer clinics this spring.
The clinics are designed for players (Boys and Girls) ages 6-13 to work on the fundamental techniques of soccer in a fun and positive learning environment.
Skill development is the focus of the curriculum with participants grouped according to age and ability. Participants will practice the basic principles of soccer in stations and then apply the skills in small sided games.
The clinics will be held at Elizabeth Seton High School during the dates listed below and will run from 6:00pm-7:15pm. The clinics are open to the public, free of charge and capped at 75 participants per event, so be sure to sign-up early! Dear SPX CYO Families,
Now that we have started a Cross Country team we have become more aware of other running events in the area. This one especially caught our eye. The Bowie 5k Run / 2 Mile Walk as a fundraiser for the Bowie Food Pantry! It is $25 to sign up. The race is on Saturday, March 25, and starts at the Bowie Town Center. The 5K Run starts at 8am, while the 2 Mile Walk starts at 8:10am (please see the link below):
The whole Walsh family has signed up (Tom, Lori, Matthew, and Sarah) and we plan to run in our SPX colors. Please consider joining us before the race to warm up together, say a prayer for those in need, and then have a great time getting exercise in the fresh air! If you plan to run or walk please send me an email so we can look for you before the race (not sure where we will locate but hopefully you will see our colors!). The timing is perfect too as it is after CYO basketball, but before CYO Softball/Baseball/T-ball/Track and Field so it should not interfere with any CYO games. Again, this is not a SPX CYO event, but it is local, it is ‘Cross Country’, and it such a worthy cause. Hope to see you there!
